Boston Part 3: What We Ate
We decided we better have two desserts a day while in Boston, so we did. Lu loved the keylime cupcake from Sweets Cupcakes. Lolly is a regular there. We also got huge treats from Mike's Pastry and split desserts at a local Brighton bakery (with super cool tree chandeliers) and some JP Licks.
We also went out to lunch at Quincy Market (where we got two ethnic versions of chicken and rice), Smoken' Joes BBQ (with food bigger than our faces) and delicious cheap pizza at Pinocchios.

NYC Part 2: What We Ate
We decided to only eat out for dessert and therefore got to experience so many tasty treats (totally justifiable right? Plus we walked a lot...) Thanks to all the delicious places we went to: Dylan's Candy Bar, Crumbs, Momofuku Milk Bar, sugar Sweet sunshine, and especially Insomnia Cookies (they kindly gave us 2 cookies!) | ||

The Menagerie
There are so many animals that we would love to have as pets!
Here are some favs:
Pudu Deer! Lu used to always want a baby deer when she envisioned the perfect pet, so when Lolly sent her a picture of a pudu, she about died.
There are tons of little baby turtles for sale on Canal Street. However, after doing some research these turtles are very illegal and eventually get to be the size of a shoebox! So this may not be a good idea.
Lolly loves loves loves kittens/cats! Unfortunately, Lu is allergic so kittens only remind her of itchy eyes, sneezing and trouble breathing.
Yorkie puppies are adorable little balls of fur.
This is likely our inner Jasmine coming out, but how neat would it be to have a pet tiger?!

Book Review: Summer at Tiffany
Lu: This is a darling book about two friends' summer in the Big Apple. A twist of fate lands the main characters, Marjorie and Marty, positions as the first female pages at Tiffany & Co. The more I read the more I wanted to be them or be best friends with them. The adventures this dynamic duo has both in their upscale 9-to-5 jobs and while exploring New York City is captivating. One of my favorite aspects was the letters Marjorie would write home. She always cautiously left out little things to protect her worrying family. Plus it is a glimpse into wartime life in the 1940s.
Lolly: I really enjoyed this memoir, and it made me believe even more fervently that I should have been in my prime during the late- and post-WWII years. Ms. Hart (um, even her name is darling) really captures the understated glamour of the era in New York with her descriptions of the places and people, and the emergence of women in not only the workforce but in higher education as well. Short and sweet, but a definite delight. And yes, Marjorie&Marty would have totally been bffs with Lu&Lolly!

Same Brain
Dear CaLo,
Remember when we both did NY internships, fell in love with the East Coast and found reasons to move back?
I love how we share the same brain.

apples&beans
Dear Cournelius,
Cannot wait for:
a) me coming to see you in the Big Apple and
b) you coming to see me in Bean Town.
Apples and beans, apples and beans. What a feast.
Love,
Cathmandu
